Word of the Day 06/30

Today's word of the day is Jabberwocky. Yes, it is a real word.

From Wordsmith.org
jab.ber.wocky \'jab-*r-.wa:k-e-\ n [Jabberwocky, nonsense poem by Lewis Carroll] : meaningless speech or writing

"Stop that jabberwocky and get in here to eat your dinner," she shouted at her son, whose penchant for nonsense was trying her patience.

Actually, Wolf, I think it applies more to the spam bloggers we were getting prior to making the switch to a log in comment system. : )

You don’t speak nonsense. Now Mookie on the other hand… : )

In Dwight’s article the other day, on middle names, I mentioned the word conundrum. (I think that’s how it is spelled). I had said that this word needs to be a word of the day.
Today, I was lying on the beach, reading a Stuart Woods book, Shoot Him If He Runs, and on page 85, there is that word. Is that a coincidence, or am I getting smarter? grin

I think I am jabberwocky-ing right now. It sounds like a character from a George Lucas movie.

Becky, you ARE getting smarter!

I agree Allyson. I think it was a name from one of the Star Wars movies. Wasn’t Chewbaca a jabberwocky?

Becky, your wish is my command. Check out the new word of the day.
