What Lincoln is Thinkin’ - Week 4

Welcome to the first interactive "What Lincoln is Thinkin'." We now have the ability for you to interact with me and thousands of other folks just like you who want to talk prep football, college football, or any other sport you can think of.

So, before you start berating me online, let's get to this week's blog.

First off, the awards.

Upset of the Week
Darlington beating Marion. Maybe the Swamp Foxes were looking ahead to Cheraw, or maybe it just took awhile for Justin Danner's schemes to start working in D-town. Still, the Falcons couldn't stop a soul in the first two weeks, then came up with a huge effort. I'm interested to see if they can hang with Lamar Friday.

Best Win
While Myrtle Beach topping Dillon was huge, I'm going to give this one to Chesterfield. The Golden Rams have slipped a bit under the radar over the first few weeks, but now, after beating Cheraw, they can't go unnoticed. I like them to go undefeated the rest of the way.


Other Ramblings.

West Florence is not going to go away. Even without their quarterback, they crushed Lugoff-Elgin on Thursday night. As of right now in our Terrific 13, Conway, WFlo and Hartsville are right in a row, and they all seem to be just about equal this year. It will be a fun stretch run in Region VI this year.

Timmonsville is in trouble. They could not get anything going against Lamar, and are going into Socastee as the underdog. They'll meet a tougher Braves team there, and fall to 0-4. They'll need to beat everyone other than Lamar in their region to make the playoffs.

Anyone doubting Myrtle Beach now? Dillon fans shouldn't worry though, they'll still run the table in 2A. But I told you so.

If Wilson keeps improving, it might be Darryl Page's best coaching job ever. Their loss to Clover on the opening Thursday of Week Zero was one of the worst displays of offensive football I've ever seen. I was at Lee Central this past Friday, and the Tigers have all ready come a long way. Let's see if they come together to make another playoff run.

Interesting games for this week: Like I said, I'd like to see if Darlington can hang with Lamar. Also, who will fall to 1-3 - Marion? or Cheraw? And Lake City hasn't allowed a touchdown in a long time, I wonder how long it will take for the Seahawks to score against them this Friday.
