What Lincoln is Thinkin’ - Sunday Afternoon at Augusta
Au-GUST-aAround 3pm the wind started coming into Augusta, and scores have plummeted. A few players had a miserable time - including Paul Casey who shot a 40 on the front nine, and Ian Poulter who double bogeyed holes 5 and 6. Both players were in contention until those downfalls.
Phil and Vijay
Most of the time when I come to Augusta, I usually pick a few holes to watch from. I usually plant myself at 18 or on Amen Corner, or between 5 and 6. But today I decided to walk with the golfers, and I followed the most interesting pairing of the day - Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh - throughout their entire front nine. You get a much different feeling of the course when you actually go through it hole after hole like the players do. I'll tell you one thing - they didn't speak one word to each other the entire round. I think both of them are to blame for that. In contrast, Tiger Woods and Stewart Cink walked up the fairways together and spoke frequently. One other thing - I think Vijay gets a bad wrap. No one likes him because he seems to have an adverse relationship with the media. But it seems like everyone within the golfing circle likes him very much.

Immelman Doesn't Fade
It seems as if we've all been wrong about Trevor Immelman. He has a five stroke lead with four holes remaining, and looks like he will be the first wire to wire leader at the Masters in decades. Other players cracked under the pressure today (see Casey, Paul; Poulter, Ian and Snedeker, Brandt), but Immelman never wavered. He reached a point when he missed an easy birdie putt on nine, and then bogeyed 10 and I thought that it would go downhill. But instead he got stronger. There is no fluky part of this victory. In the most important week in every golfer's year, Immelman was the best from start to finish.
What do you think about the Masters this year?
