What Lincoln is Thinkin’ - Slaughterhouse 5

#1 Myrtle Beach. #2 Dillon. #4 Lake View. #7 Manning. #8 Lamar.

All five of them, cut down on one ugly Friday night. First off, I was at the Crestwood Myrtle Beach game, and the Seahawks deserved to lose that game. Not that there wasn't effort, and not that they didn't play hard, but you could feel that the Seahawks' lack of a rushing game would hurt them at some point. Everett Golson again played very well, but Crestwood was too fast and too tough. A great season for the Seahawks, but they met their match Friday. Golson has plenty of great games ahead of him though.

I am shocked about what happened in Class A. I thought Lake View would coast to the championship game and that Lamar would be too multi-dimensional to lose to Carvers Bay. Wrong, and wrong. Lamar could not stop the Bears running attack, and could not click offensively whatsoever. The Bears played by far their best game of the season, and they did it on the biggest stage so far. Great job. As for the Wild Gators, the magic ran out. Blackville-Hilda lost to Williston-Elko earlier this season... but brought their A game to LV. Tough way to lose, but the Gators get most of their firepower back next year.

I really thought Dillon's offense would be able to hang with Cheraw. But, look at me, wrong again. The Braves have a load of weapons, and Josh Henderson has really come along at quarterback.

All right Tiger fans, you got me. I didn't believe you could win the last two weeks and I've been wrong both times. Aren't you guys happy I don't forecast the weather? So my question is, do you guys want me to pick them to win this week? Or pick them to lose.

On that same vein, funny story. Chris Fischer went down to Carvers Bay and RB Jonathan Holmes wouldn't talk to him. Because Holmes had done interviews prior to the Lake View and the Carolina Forest games - the Bears only two losses of the year. Then on Monday, Chris went to the Class A Championships Press Conference in Orangeburg, and once again, Holmes wouldn't talk to him. I understand the superstition.

That being said,

Predictions:

I DO think Wilson will win this week. The road warriors could've beaten Crestwood during the regular season, but lost by a handful. The Tigers will once again go in as the underdogs, and they've thrived in that role. The Tigers will continue to thrive.

In North Carolina, Richmond Senior and Purnell Swett have sweated out wins over the past few weeks. But they're both hitting the road in quarterfinal matchups to play top seeds... and they'll both lose, to West Charlotte and Watuga respectively.

Cheraw rolls over Central. And I mean rolls. Welcome back to the state championship game.

Finally...

Chesterfield almost beat Carvers Bay in last year's title game... losing by just a point. The Rams are much better than they were last year, but I don't think the Bears are. Chesterfield wins it.... and hopefully Holmes will talk to us after.

Slaughterhouse 5
Should’t be Slaughterhouse 6, Hartsville also fell to Ridge View 38-34.
We would love to be playing Clover to night.

Yes, it could be Slaughterhouse 6, but that of course would ruin the allusion to the book.

I’m sure the Red Foxes would love to playing tonight, but love to be playing Clover?

Ask Wilson what it was like to play Clover.
