What Lincoln is Thinkin' - Week 4 Odds & Ends

It's almost impossible to set lines for high school football games, and I do not condone gambling whatsoever (especially on sports). But just for fun, I'm playing the bookmaker this week - setting the lines and picking the winners.

Hartsville @ Myrtle Beach (-11) Seahawks should be heavily favored at home against the Red Foxes. But if last week is any indication, the Red Foxes are better than we think, and the Seahawks might not be as good. I think this one will be close. Pick: Hartsville

Marlboro County @ Conway (-2) This game is very evenly matched, but I think Conway is the favorite because they're at home. I'm giving Marlboro County, maybe the best team in AAA, two points in the Backyard, but I still say Conway wins. It's close, but by more than two. Pick: Conway

Lamar (-6) @ Marion Swamp Foxes get points at home against a Lamar team that has skated by in some close games over the past few weeks. Swamp Foxes have underachieved so far, but I'm picking them to win this game - or at least keep it under 6. Pick: Marion

Timmonsville @ Wilson (-16) What happened to Wilson last week? Tigers were bombarded by Hartsville, but they are still big favorites against Timmonsville this week. I like the Tigers to get themselves together. Pick: Wilson

Central @ Cheraw (-5) The Braves might be 1-2, but they're still favorites over one of the best AA teams in the state. The Braves are set to turn this ship around, and they always seem to find a way to beat the Eagles. Even with the points, I'm going with the champs. Pick: Cheraw

Latta @ Carvers Bay (-19) The Bears have given up 12 points in four games this year. Latta will score two touchdowns in this game and keep it closer than many people will think. I'm taking the points. Pick: Latta

Manning (-13) @ Lake City Lake City will be Blowout City, but not in a good way for the Panthers. Pick: Manning

West Florence (-17) @ Darlington You have to cock your head a little and wonder what happened to the Knights in Lugoff last week. Meanwhile, the Falcons almost pulled off a great win over Lamar last week. That being said, I don't think this one is close. Pick: West Florence

Lake View (-21) @ Green Sea-Floyds Gators should be real angry after only beating a SCISA school by ten last week. Quandon Christian will hold nothing back. Pick: Lake View

Georgetown (-3) @ Carolina Forest This is the Panthers best hope for a win this year, even though they are 3 point dogs in their home stadium to a team that won one game last year. I really like Tyrone Davis's crew this year - they might even make the playoffs. Pick: Georgetown
