What Lincoln is Thinkin’ - Jamboree Winners & Losers
What Lincoln is Thinkin' - Jamboree Winners & LosersWinners:
1. Myrtle Beach: The Seahawk offense looked like a well-oiled machine. Myrtle Beach's offensive line was one of it's weaknesses last year, but at the CNB Kickoff Classic against Loris, they gave QB Everett Golson hours to work in the pocket. Khiry Watts also proved himself as a good RB option.
2. Central: The War Eagles went into Bennettsville and shut the door on Marlboro in their own backyard. Central returns the majority of their starters, and showed they're going to be a force to be reckoned with in AA.
3. Chesterfield: At the Pee Dee Classic, Chesterfield romped over Carvers Bay, using both of their quarterbacks to propel them to a big win. Coach Taneyhill's crew is thinking repeat all ready.
4. Socastee: Jr. QB Zack Elliman was impressive against Carolina Forest in Conway, leading the triple option to success. The Braves are in a fight to be the second-best team in the region behind Myrtle Beach, if Elliman can continue to progress, they could be the favorite.
5. West Florence: The Knights brought out the whoopin' stick against Darlington. Everyone knows how good the lines are for West Flo, but they showed they have some electricity at the talent positions as well.
Losers
1. Darlington: Sure West Florence is supposed to beat them - but not 35-7 in HALF of a game.
2. Aynor: The Blue Jackets lost 27-0 in 20 minutes to North Myrtle Beach. Aynor surrendered the ball twice on their own one yard line, and turned the ball over a few other times as well.
3. Lamar: The Silver Foxes did not have much fight in them against Lakewood - plus QB Eric Daney went down with an injury.
4. Marion: The Swamp Foxes hoped to show they could hang with some big boys from AAA - but Wilson trumped them 28-7. Are the reigning state champs that good, or is Marion that bad? We'll have to wait and see.
5. Georgetown: The Bulldogs will continue to improve under first year coach Tyrone Davis, but you would have liked to see them get the ball in the end zone against a Class A team (Hemingway).
