What Lincoln is Thinkin from the State College airport
I am with the CCU Chanticleers moments after their 66-10 defeat to Penn State.The mood is varied - Coach Bennett was very upset that his team could not make more plays. He also referred to the final score as "embarassing."
QB Will Richardson was also disappointed, even though the CCU passing attack was the most effective aspect in the game.
Seeing it live, Coastal was mismatched all over the field. Penn state's d-line enveloped the CCU o-line. Penn State's running backs were faster than CCU's linebackers.
With that being said, Coastal did not make many plays. They did not force a turnover. They had terrible kick returns. Their longest rush of the day was 7 yards by Zack MacDowall. Defensively, it was just ugly.
As for Beaver Stadium, it is no question an unbelievable place to watch a football game. Their student section is electric and they have some of the best chants (not like the -icleer, the other kind).
All-in-all the Chants (the other kind again) played hard and were not in awe of their surroundings. But they were seriously outmanned. The score will sting awhile, but the memory of playing in front of 100,000 people will last a lifetime.
