What Lincoln is Thinkin' - Thursday Morning at Augusta

Dustin has a great start

We were able to catch Dustin Johnson on the practice green before he teed off this morning at 9:17am with Rory Sabbatini and Craig Stadler. He seemed pretty relaxed, but his coach Allen Terrell said that Johnson had what he said were "typical jitters." Johnson promptly BOMBED his first drive off the first green. He would par the first hole, but birdie numbers 2 and 3.

No early TV coverage

Right now I'm writing this blog from the press building off the the first fairway. It's shortly before noon, and about half the field has teed off. What I don't get is why there is no television coverage until 4pm. You can't tell me that anyone across the planet would not be watching the Masters right now, if there was 7 hours of live coverage. From what I've heard, it's the Masters tournament committee that has chosen to have such a small television window, but I cannot see any reason why.

Ross Fisher

Better get to know the 28 year old English golfer. The two-time winner on the European Tour shot a front nine 33 and right now is at four under. One of the first guys to tee off today, he might be that young face, like Trevor Immelman and Brandt Snedeker, who might still be around come Sunday.

Sandwiches in the little green baggies

Anyone who's been to the Masters knows, the best cuisine is the sandwiches in the little green baggies. Of course, there is the famous pimento cheese, the underrated Masters Club, and the crowd-pleasing Chicken. Instead of loading up on the cheese this year... I'm going to go for the variety. Just thought you'd like to know.

More blogging later, I'm heading out to watch Dustin tackle Amen Corner. You can also follow my twitters by going to http://www.twitter.com, and searching for matthewlincoln
