What Lincoln is Thinkin’ - Heisman formula
What Lincoln is Thinkin' - Heisman formulaMany voters weigh different categories more than others when picking the Heisman. Is it the best player on the best team? Is it a born winner who may not have the best stats? Is it a physical specimen that dominates whoever he's up against? The best answer to that is all of the above, but here on the WLIT, I'll weigh each category evenly to pick a winner.
Here are the categories:
Numbers: Overall statistics, regardless of who the numbers came against.
Winner: How good is the team he plays for.
MVP quality: How important is he to the team he plays for
Wow factor: A player's in-person jawdroppability
Relevance: 10 years down the line, when we look back at 2009, how will we think of this player. In other words, how much did this player embody the 2009 season, because he will be the face of it forever.
I took the five Heisman finalists, and just for kicks included C.J. Spiller, then ranked them all 1 to 6 for each of these categories. The lowest score is your Heisman winner.
