What Lincoln is Thinkin' - Friday afternoon at AugustaDustin eagles eight
The CCU grad continues to have an up and down first Masters. But Dustin Johnson just had his single highest up. Even through seven holes, Johnson just eagled the par five eighth hole, which puts him at -2 for the tournament, in a tie for 13th place. Anything can happen (you may remember he double bogeyed two straight holes on the back nine yesterday), but that one eagles seems to have put him in the safe range to make the cut. (Right now it sits at +1)
Where's the bad weather?
There is still no sign of the stormy weather that is supposedly set to come in to Augusta this afternoon. The wind has picked up and somewhat affected scores. DJ Trahan shot a 73 today, and was much happier with that score then the 72 he shot yesterday. But there are plenty of golfers putting in great scores: Rory McIlroy is four under through 13, Kenny Perry is four under through 15 and Steve Stricker shot a 69. So there are low scores to be had out there... we just hope the rain stays far, far away.
Sandwich Count
Jimmy is now into double digits with the pimento cheese sandwiches (after only two and a half days), while I'm stuck on three. That's mostly because I've tried to spread the wealth around, and also partaken in the Masters Club and Chicken sandwiches. That still should be no excuse.
More blogging later. Dustin just bogeyed nine.
