What Lincoln is Thinkin' - Blitz Week 8

I'm thinkin' that Marion has their best shot at knocking off Dillon since 2006. Against the two best teams that Dillon has played this year, the Cats have laid eggs - they got smoked by both Myrtle Beach and Marlboro County. Now those are two very good teams, so it's tough to say exactly whether this is a state title contending team or not. If they come out and send a message at Fox Field, it may show that they are ready to repeat. The difference won't be the Nasty Cat defense, it will be the Swamp Fox defense. I don't think Marion can slow down the Dillon attack that's getting better and better. I'm thinkin' that Marion is not ready yet to contend with the Cats, Dillon wins big.

I'm thinkin' Johnsonville could really throw a wrench in the Class A Region VIII standings if they could knock off Hemingway. As long as Lake View holds off Latta, which they should, then there would be a four way tie atop the league. The Flashes wasted an opportunity by losing by just two to the Gators a few weeks ago. Now, they have to beat the Tigers to get in the mix. It will be close, Johnsonville has the pounding offense to run the clock down and limit the Tigers opportunities. But I'm thinkin' Hemingway's athleticism will be just too much, and they will break enough big plays to win.

I'm thinkin' the game with the most on the line Friday is Loris at Mullins. Both teams sit 0-2 in the region, and the loser of this game can almost assure themselves a spot out of the playoffs. Unless Aynor pulls a miraculous two-game hot streak (like they did last year), then the winner would be going to the postseason. I'm thinkin' Mullins is more talented, but Loris will want it more. I'm taking the Lions.

I'm thinkin', not this this is divine revelation, that Waccamaw is not at the level of Timberland. The game Friday is for the region championship and the Warriors are not only improved, they are also legitimately very good. But Timberland is legitimately dominant. The one thing that will keep Waccamaw in the game for awhile is that they are smart with the football, and don't make backbreaking mistakes, which the Wolves are great at forcing. I'm thinkin' the Warriors hang around for a quarter and a half, but lose by at least four touchdowns.

I'm thinkin' this is what I'm looking for on Friday night: Will Camden overlook Darlington and keep the Falcons in the game? Has Jeff Calabrese been holding out Shaun Smith just so he can come out and blowout Conway? Will Manning wake up from its slumber and destroy Hanahan? Will Lakewood get a first down against Marlboro? Will Wilson find enough offense to hand Crestwood its fifth loss in a row?

What are you looking forward to on Friday?
