Up WAY Before Breakfast!
With all humility, I sure hope you've moved from letting me and Frank Johnson put you asleep every night, to letting Lyra Manning, Chris Still, and me wake you up every morning.I've moved to the morning show here on News13, and I couldn't be happier!
We've really worked on the show's format over the past several weeks, and I feel right at home with Lyra and Chris.
I am a little sad to leave "Fox News At Ten." It's a show that I feel like I really made my own, and I was proud to not only be able to anchor that show on WFXB every night, but, many nights, I put a lot of work into producing it from the ground up, too. The folks at FOX are great to work with, and Michelle Carolla more than ably fills the seat (or...spot on the floor) for that show.
But the morning show is my new job, and I am taking it on with everything I have.
Yes, it means getting up, as my grandfather says, "way before breakfast" every morning. How early? Try 2:45 a.m.
I really do like it--as long as I get to take my power nap in the afternoons!
I have no traffic worries on 501 at 4:00 a.m., so that, too, is a plus!
Lyra and I strive to bring you the most up-to-date information not necessarily about what happened the day and night before, but what's happening right that moment in the Eastern Carolinas. If it's a story we are re-running from the night before, we try to update it and "freshen it up" for you so you know what you need to know to start your day.
Chris Still adds his forecasting abilities, along with the area's most reliable and accurate tools, and we even have Dianne Lane along for traffic reports in the 6:00a.m. hour.
If you haven't checked out News13 in the mornings lately, you are missing out on the best place to start your day, no matter where in the Eastern Carolinas you live!

Lyra and Chris were doing just fine by themselves, but you are a nice addition to the morning team Rusty. You guys do good work.
