Under the Sun: Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a good holiday!

It’s been a good day. I had Thanksgiving dinner with some of my family before coming in to work and I got to talk to many others on the phone.

Thankfully, it’s been a quiet evening.

Earlier this afternoon, Rebecca, one of our photographers, put together a really neat multimedia package on the Thanksgiving dinner that was held at Manna House today.

Here’s the link, if you’d like to check it out: http://www.scnowcommunity.com/index.php/multimedia/comments/manna_house_thanksgiving/.

What did y’all do on Thanksgiving? And are you planning to brave the Black Friday crowds in search of sales?

“What did y’all do on Thanksgiving?“

I have never faced a more serious question in all my time..

As luck would have it..today is my Thanksgiving…I spent all day on the real Thanksgiving Day searching for a missing boater on Lynches River down in Hooterville…

Today I spent half the day searching then returned home for a wonderful home cooked meal…all of this of course after meeting and riding down the river in the pouring rain with WBTW’s very own Rashad Midani..

The dude is known as a Digital Journalist but out there in the pouring rain he looked pretty much “analog” to me..C’mon Rashad..I had to get at least one punch in..wink

He is quite kind and easy to talk to..very professional..

He’s already married so I wont waste anymore time trying to build him up..trust me..he’s cool..

Anyway back to Thanksgiving..

After 12 days of searching the river..sitting here soaking wet..I’m thinking that I am very thankful for the gift of “knowing”..

At this moment..I know where every member of my family is..and that they are safe..

I can only hope that everyone got as much out of Thanksgiving…as I did..

I agree, Wolf. Nothing is more nerve-racking than not being able to reach a loved one, especially when you know they’ve been on the road and should be at home when you’re trying to call them. I remember my parents asking me to call them when I got back to school after returning from the holidays. Now I find myself doing the same thing. And getting worried if they don’t call me within a reasonable time.
