The Masters: Second Round

Like yesterday the sun is out and the day is turning out to be beautiful. Trevor Immelman entered the day tied for the lead with Justin Rose, and so far he staying in the hunt. Teeing off in the third group of the day, the South African was paired with fan favorite Boo Weekley and Sean O'Hair. Through the turn he is at one under par, placing one stroke off the pace of Brandt Snedeker who entered the day one in back of the leaders. Snedeker has just finished the seventh and thus far is three under on the day. With the scores likely to be lower than yesterday, Snedeker has set the pace.

Clemson Alum DJ Trahan will tee off in the grouping of Gary Player, who had the highest score yesterday at 11 over par and Miguel Angel Jimenez. They will hit the tee box at 11:51AM and for Trahan to be playing this weekend, he will have to shoot at par or below. The cut line is projected to be around plus four, and he is coming off a 76 from yesterday. The other Clemson Tiger competing at Augusta National, Jonathan Byrd finished up round one at three over par and so far through six holes he is at plus one. Which would leave him possibly below the cutline.

Most of the golfers to keep an eye on tee off after noon. Fred Couples' streak of 23 consecutive cuts made at the Masters is in jeopardy. Couples is at four over as well. Former Masters winners Mike Weir, Zach Johnson and Tiger Woods are in three of the last four pairings for the afternoon. And when they step on to the course, the Weather forecast is calling for partly cloudy and a temperature of 75 degrees. Which means it will be perfect out here. Round one leader Justin Rose is in the final pairing of the day and will tee off at 2:03PM.

Tonight on News13 at six, I'll recap morning play plus the afternoon group will be trickling in off the course. And on New13 at eleven Matt Lincoln will show you the shots that dropped and didn't. Plus I'll will tell you who will make the cut and who fell short.
