The best game you almost missed
Western Kentucky and Gonzaga left it all on the court Saturday night. It was a game that literally came down to the final second.Games like these are the reason we have an NCAA tournament. It's the reason we fill out those brackets every year in hopes of being the most knowledgeable college basketball fan in America, or you just want to win some money.
Unfortunately, most of us only got to see the end. Those of you who don't have MyNetwork TV were forced to watch Duke-Texas. A good game in its own right, if Clark Kellogg hadn't been calling it.
I swear on the Almighty, this guy can certainly ruin a game. After having to deal with him kissing up to Mr. Overrated in North Carolina's first-round win, I had the further indignity to listen to him kiss up to the entire Duke team against the Longhorns.
Listen, Frosted Flakes and every other Duke fan, the puckered lips club only has room for one member. Only Dick Vitale can kiss up to Duke. You are not allowed. Besides, you might not have any room once he's finished.
Somewhere out there,Vitale's probably shining Coach K's shoes, telling things like "the President's wrong, you're going to win it all" and "can I change my lipstick." These are the people that make me hate watching the tournament.
We need more games like Western Kentucky-Gonzaga! One where the kids play their hearts out without crappy officiating and even worse announcing. Maybe someday CBS will get it right, but I doubt it.
