Soggy Myrtle Beach Marathon Outlook
If you're participating in the Myrtle Beach Marathon this Saturday, get ready to get wet because there will probably be some rain to contend with on Saturday.I've been updating the forecast all week on this blog, and unfortunately, I don't have anything new or different to add today. Temperature wise, conditions will be ideal with overcast conditions and gun time temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. Temperatures will slowly rise into the lower 50s by 10AM and middle 50s by noon. That's the good news. Now the not so good news.
It looks like there will be about a 70 percent chance of rain Saturday morning, so get ready to get wet. There is always a chance we could see a break in the rain just long enough to squeeze in the run, but I wouldn't count on it. What I would count on is a soggy race course and a southwest wind around 10 mph or so. That 10 mph wind is an improvement from what I was thinking earlier in the week. While it is enough to produce a decent headwind for the latter part of the course, it won't be enough to really hamper most experienced runners. And frankly, if you're running 26 or even 13 miles, I'd say you count as experienced!
We'll be tracking the forecast from now until the gun sounds Saturday morning, so don't forget to add the new StormTracker 13 Weather Widget to your webpage or blogspace. It's quick and easy. Just click "Add This to Site" on the image below, then copy and paste it to your webpage editor.
