Smashing your finger and the effect it has on your work
Earlier today, I walked back to one of the edit bays to ask Michelle Carolla a question. She had the door closed when I went to speak with her, so I decided to close it back when the conversation was done. Well, when I closed the door, I didn't get my pinkie out in time. When it happened, I remember it making my finger feel very weird. It didn't hurt, it just felt very, very strange. Once the door was removed from smashing my finger, I pulled it out and looked at it. My finger instantly started bleeding, this is when the pain set in. I started screaming, "God, god, god, oh god, it hurts, oh god, god....." I remember Michelle saying to me, "Oh no, don't cry, don't cry." The only thing I could think about to myself was nothing but cuss words. I'm actually not sure if I was able to speak any, but I know there was many different sentences being formed only with cuss words in my head.
The worst thing about smashing your finger is the pressure you feel after. That constant, thump, thump, thump, that can be a never ending reminder of your injury. My boss gave me a couple of fingertip band-aids and some ibprofen. The ibprofen made the throbbing stop, but now I've got this huge band-aid on the tip of my finger that will not allow me to use the left side of my keyboard too well. I keep hitting the caps lock and random other letters while trying to hit a or q. It's driving me nuts.
Anyway, I just wanted to share..

Hope you feel better. Nothing worse than a sore finger, you seem to smack it on everything.
