Rascal has a few tips for Bo

Psst. Psst. Bark. Yeah, over here.

I'm Rascal, an All-American thoroughbred of a dog that lives and roams in Hannah, S.C. ... and I have a few tips for you, the Obama's newest family member, Bo... By the way, what exactly is Portuguese Water Dog, anyway?

Bo. Can I call you Bo? You can call me Rascal.

I understand you're sort of named after Bo Diddly, that's not too bad. It's a name to live up to, though. And names are given to be lived up to, I always say, I guess that's why they call me Rascal ... so "Bo Diddly" your time away, creating and bluesing around. You're sure to win some hearts if you learn to play an electric guitar...

Don't let them train you, Bo. You train them. Start now. Wag your tail. Teach them to smile.

Make sure you whine until you get what you want. They'll probably pay you a lot of attention if you whine. I don't think they want whining in the White House. You'll probably get lots of doggy treats to not whine.

Sit when they say sit, and shake paws they they extend theirs, only because you want to. And when they have friends over, and they make you perform, make them pay. Entertain them, but require an extra walk in the Rose Garden later. You'll be glad you did.

Teach your humans that being on time with the food is of utmost importantance ... Do this by dragging your food dish from the corner of the porch to right in front of the door. Do you have a porch? Make them build you one if you don't have it, they make a great place to put your treasures from your digs ... But back to the food dish ... Drag and push that bowl all around ... once it's right in the way, and someone trips over it, they won't forget that meals are at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. whether or not they're hungry.

Make sure you have at least one squeaky or chew toy per room. To make sure you have at least one per room, just start chewing on anything you see that strikes your fancy, the more expensive the leather shoe, the more likely you'll get a new chew...

Well those are all the tips I have for now, I see a Cardinal to chase and a bone to bury.
