Predictions for state championships

Here's how I see thinks shaping up in Columbia:

Class 2A Girls -- Marion over Pendleton. The Swamp Foxes have been the best 2A girls team in the area all season. Both teams are strong defensively, but I think Marion has the edge when it comes to offense. Expect Geneika Brantley and Candace Wright to come through big.

Class 2A Boys -- Toss up, but I'll give a slight edge to Southside as defending champs and for already having beaten Mullins once this year. If the Tigers get out ahead early, the Aucs might not be able to catch back up. If the game is close at the end, though, advantage goes to Mullins.

Class 3A Girls -- Lower Richland over Darlington. Hard to pick against the three-time defending Class 4A champions who are now in 3A. Darlington was the best team in the area, but they haven't faced anyone like the Diamond Hornets. If Rozzelle and company can pull off this one, he's coach of the year hands down.
