Playoffs? You’re talking about playoffs!

For what seems like two months of basketball, the NBA playoffs are what separate the stars from the all-stars. The Larry O’Brien trophy is on the line and I’m thinking the defending champ Boston Celtics won’t repeat the feat.

The crown usually goes to the squad that clearly dominated during the season. That team was the Cleveland Cavaliers, led by the “King” Lebron James, my pick for MVP.
The reigning most valuable player, Kobe Bean Bryant led his L.A. Lakers to the top seed in the west. However, this could be a disappointing season for the bandwagon fans. Tim Duncan and Tony Parker could have their Spurs team alive when the dust settles. Carmelo Anthony and his new veteran point guard gunner Chauncey Billups are a threat with the Denver Nuggets.

In the eastern conference, my Philadelphia 76ers pulled off an upset victory over the Orlando Magic in game one. The Atlanta Hawks appear to be a young team that has finally grown up into a contender. Bye D-Wade.
Derrick Rose is a dynamic point guard, and the rookie is on stage to give the world a glimpse into the future. The Bulls are just as aggressive as the Hawks team that gave Boston trouble in the opening round last season.

The Rockets are a tough match-up, especially with Yao Ming hitting every shot, but Portland should recover and overwhelm them with their depth.

MVP: LBJ, Lebron is like none another, been rooting for this kid since he was 16.

Coach of the Year: Mike Brown and his Cavs couldn’t lose at home.

Defensive Player of the Year: Dwight Howard is “Mr. 20/20.”

NBA Sixth Man: Jason Terry gets buckets the moment he hits the floor.

Rookie of the Year: Derrick Rose continues the trend of rookies being able to play productively early in their career.
