Picking a Martinsville winner
Racing at Martinsville always is interesting and fun to watch.I remember going to the Virginia track back in 2001. It was my second Cup race I covered after going to Bristol the week before. Dale Jarrett won the race that day in a close finish.
While Martinsville will never have the draw and popularity of Bristol, the paper-clip-shaped track usually provides a lot of side-by-side racing and wrecks, which people love.
This week should be no different especially with the rains, which washed out qualifying and qualifying.
Because of those factors, I think drivers who have run well in the past should do well today. That’s why I think Jeff Gordon will be going into Victory Lane later today, but if he doesn’t I like Virginia native Denny Hamlin.
