People in the world get more disgusting everyday

I spent most of Tuesday sick to my stomach. I'm kind of glad I didn't attempt to drag into work that day - I avoided reporting on the case of two Dillon children who were diagnosed with gonorrhea. Police are investigating it as a possible criminal sexual conduct case. My saying I was disgusted is a gross understatement. Why? I mean what type of disfunction in your head makes you want to hurt little kids and ruin their lives? And I 'm really upset with the parents. THEY are responsible for their children. You MUST love them and protect them to the best of your ability. I don't have children, but I understand now why my parents were so protective with me and my three sisters. They wouldn't let me go visit friends at their houses unless they knew their parents well. None of us ever went to daycare-my mom insisted on staying home with us before we were old enough to go to school and when we did go to school she was always there when we got home. If she had to leave us with someone -once again, it was with someone she trusted and knew for years. And leaving us alone in the house with strangers? Forget it. Not Deloris Rogers. I remember when I was about 11 and I wanted to go to a classmate's slumber party and my parents wouldn't let me. Reason: We don't know Yolanda's mom that well and we don't like the idea she lives with a man she's not married to. I now understand my parents' wisdom. I don't know if there was something wrong with my friend's mom's boyfriend or what but that situation made them uneasy and they took the safe route. As a child, I remember some of my friends saying my parents were too strict. True. My daddy sometimes went overboard during my teenage years but their cautiousness probably kept me out of harm's way. So to all the parents out there- you can never ever be too careful. And to those parents of preteens and teenagers: Be extra careful with them. They may think you're being mean and not giving them their freedom... But they'll get over it. I did.

It was extremely hard for me to report on this story the other day.
It really does make you sick to your stomach.
I had to detach myself from it, because if I sat there and really thought about it too long, I couldn’t get the job done.

You can never be too safe in this day and age.

Absolutely one of the most disturbing stories I’ve ever seen reported. I’m a bit like Jamie. It took a minute to get over the shock of what I was hearing. Then, I thought “how could this happen”
I anxious to see if it turns out to be a trusted family member or friend. That would explain it to some degree. Otherwise, I have to ask where were the parents when all of this was going on?

Good job, Patricia. I’m sure it was much more difficult to report than it was to view.

And I thought it couldn’t get any sicker.
Just incredible. I know it’ll never happen but I wish like hell they could get the death penalty.
