Patience is key for Chanticleers, fans
At 1-3 and a game against Furman, is it too early for Coastal Carolina to panic? No.No one expected the Chanticleers to resemble the team that went 9-3 last season and made a trip to the postseason. They lost 36 players and have faced a brutal schedule in which four of their first five opponents were ranked at one point in the I-AA poll.
I doubt the Chants will beat Furman this week but it's not out of the question for them to run the table after that. The offense with Will Richardson is showing signs of life and I expect him to find a way to get Jerome Simpson the ball. Also, look for freshman running back Eric O'Neal to produce down the stretch.
After this week, coastal plays three straight at home and the Big South isn't as strong as most people thought in the beginning of the season with preseason selection Liberty slumping as of late.
So if the Chants fans can be patient, the team has the potential to bring another Big South title back to Conway.
