Our trip to GameStop
This past Sunday my husband and I decided to trade in our PlayStation2 and all of the games to get some things for the Xbox 360. We ended up leaving the store with a boat load of stuff. We trade our PlayStation2, about eight games and two controlers. With all of that, we ended up getting $80 worth of store credit.
Well, they had one used Rock Band microphone there for 13 bucks that I had my eye one for a couple of days so I snagged it. Since I was getting the microphone, this ment that I would need a USB hub because the Xbox 360 only has two hubs on the front. I also waned to get a cooler fan for the back of the 360. After having to send it to be repaired two times, I'm trying to be a little more careful. I was looking at the Rock Band hub for $25 when my husband walked up to me with a USB hub/cooler fan attachment for only 15 bucks! It had four USB ports in the back, the cooling fan, multi-video settings, the network cable outlet. What a value. After picking up those two things, we moved on to games. We got four used games: Doom 3, Quake 4, Call of Duty 2 and Tiger Woods Golf 2006. We also picked up a Halo 3 collectible, the battle rifle with stand.
All of that stuff came to just a few cents away from 80 bucks. We got store credit instead of cash. If we would have gotten the cash, you lose 10% of the value of the trade in. Also with store credit, your not charged any taxes when you make a purchase with it.
That was a pretty exciting day for us. I did keep two things from the PlayStation though. I kept my copy of the original Resident Evil and the original PlayStation memory card. Remember those? The memory was blocks instead of megabytes. Haha.
Anyway, I'm out.

Now that is my kinda shopping..."Smart Shopping”..if you will..
You trade in something instead of spending a ton of cash and go for used games..and devices..
I think the way things are heading economy-wise..this type of shopping will become more available in other areas of consumer products..or at least I hope it does..
My wife and I are always on the prowl for deals like this..especially on Ebay..where you can get like 12 PS2 games for less than a new one would cost you..
Ah yes..the memory was blocks..*LOL* gotta love ‘em..
If we ever grow up..maybe we can get an Xbox 360 or a Wii...I dont anticipate this happening anytime soon tho..
