No brainer: Hewitt in HOF

Hartsville's Pat Hewitt will soon be in the SCACA Hall of Fall and it couldn't happen to a more deserving coach.

Hewitt built the Red Foxes into one of the best programs in the state in the early 90s and then, after almost a decade away from being a head coach, came back and in three years had Hartsville back in the lower state championship.

Hewitt's style is unmistakable. She's always pushing the tempo in games and even said she'd like to see high schools adopt a shot clock to speed up their games as well.

She had a tough year this season, losing a couple starters to injuries and other things, but still managed to gain a share of the Region 6-4A title. That makes two in a row.

Hewitt's always been a great coach and an even better teacher and person. One of the classiest coaches I've ever dealt with.

So Hewitt's in the Hall of Fame? My only question to that is what took so long?
