Myrtle Beach Marathon Weather Outlook
If you're participating in the Myrtle Beach Marathon this Saturday, the news is a little better this morning with regard to the rain we may see for the event.Notice, I said "a little better." I still think there is a good chance that you will get wet at some point along the 26 miles race course, but computer models this morning are pointing toward scattered light to moderate rain showers tomorrow rather than a widespread downpour. That could bode very well for your feet down the home stretch tomorrow.
The news this morning is even better when it comes to winds tomorrow morning. It now looks like we will have very light winds--probably no more than 5 to 10 mph. Anyone who has ever run for any distance knows that that's good news!
And perhaps the best news, it still looks like gun time temperatures will be in the upper 40s rising into lower 50s around 9AM and middle 50s by noon.
Overall, I think tomorrow's weather could be decent afterall. Sure, there's a good chance you'll have to endure a few showers tomorrow morning, but there's also a slim chance the timing could be just right that the rain misses the marathon altogether. Keep those fingers crossed--it will be a close call for sure. For the very latest, click on the image below there to see our video webcast.
We'll be tracking the forecast from now until the gun sounds Saturday morning, so don't forget to add the new StormTracker 13 Weather Widget to your webpage or blogspace. It's quick and easy. Just click "Add This to Site" on the image below, then copy and paste it to your webpage editor.
