Morning Buzz: You just never know…

This morning, we’ll show you some incredible video from CBS affiliate WNEP in Pennsylvania. What is it? It’s a bear attacking a car right in the driveway of a home! Yikes!! The car’s owners got it all on tape. They watched the whole thing from their home in Hawley, PA (that’s in northeastern Pennsylvania).

The car’s owners, Barbara and Mike Selig tell WNEP, there were actually THREE bears that showed up at the house last week. They say one of them opened the car door, got inside and tore through the insides of the car.

The home video shows two bears moseying around the car, looking in the windows. At first the couple couldn't figure out why because there wasn’t any food inside. Then they saw a cub inside and heard him honking the horn. The couple says they had actually heard of bears getting into cars with open doors at other homes in their sub-division.

The Seligs say the car is totaled. And when they contacted their insurance agency, they say the agent searched a national database, and did not have any other claims of damage from a bear attack.

You’ll see the video this morning… then post your reactions here!

It was bound to happen sooner or later..I have expected this for some time now..

Once they “human-ized” bears by putting them in Charmin commercials..it was all down hill from there..wink

haha… These bears didn’t look as friendly as the ones in that commercial!

You are right there..those bears you showed looked pretty serious..

Seeing that clip would make me do my homework on the areas animal population before buying a home in a sub-division that was developed in woodlands..

Where the wife and I live..we have a similar issue with snakes..they are everywhere..it’s not uncommon to venture out the door and find a 5 foot rattler as big as a tree limb laying in the driveway..

My wife has me on a new campaign now..she has me clearing all of the underbrush in the woods around the house..she wants a forest..not woods..

I reakon she thinks snakes dont live in forests..I just dont have the heart to tell the poor gal....so every morning...Me and John Deere and a boxblade meet and spend all day clearing underbrush..and old tree limbs..and alot of snakes..

This has brought construction on the horse mansion to a stand-still..but I am telling everyone that it is due to this country being in a recession..That sounds better that telling them that my wife is scared to death of snakes and has me spending a fortune on diesel fuel to run all the snakes out of this and the next county..

I shouldnt complain tho..unlike Nickie Boone..who was merely an extra on a soap opera..My wife is the “star” of the soap opera that has been going on at our house for 10 years running..wink

Hey Wolf,
Check this clip out....look at the Damage to this couple’s Car....People claim the Lizzard Man is back in Bishopville again!has he ever made over your way?… what could cause this type of Damage...I did live off of Interstate 20 just past Camden,in 1988 but never had any encounter with anything of this Video’s Content...but people never could get any Picture’s or any Evidence...to say it was Lizzard type Creature..In my Opinion...i would not think it would be lizzard type Creature..i would rather Think it was a Grizzly Bear, but not sure if they Habitat our area!!
What do you think Wolf and Gang? wink

Bill..

I have no idea what caused that type of damage..

But I have heard of the infamous Lizard man..I always sorta thought that was someone’s way of drawing tourists to the area..which it did draw quite a few..not to mention t-shirts..bumper stickers..etc..

Grizzly Bears are not anywhere close to this region..their regional habitat extends from Alaska..south through much of western Canada..and into portions of the northwestern United States including Idaho..Montana..Washington and Wyoming..extending as far south as Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks..

So Bishopville is not included in there..

Until I see actual proof..I will believe this is folk-lore designed to attract tourists..hunters..and trappers..
