Morning Buzz:  Walk while you work

Hey there! It’s Monday, Chris and I will help you get the week started this morning!

This story comes to us thanks to CBS station KCNC in Denver, CO. A business in Denver is the test site for “the walkstation.” So, what is a “walkstation?” It’s an elevated desk that allows someone to walk on a treadmill while using a computer and talking on the phone.

The Denver Water call center is testing this out – and employees who use this desk there say they’ve already lost weight. The workers are actually being studied to see if their health changes while doing this for 6 months.

Interesting stuff! What do you think?

I feel like some sort of “Domestic Terrorist” now..to a small degree I participated in an off topic discussion..for this I will serve my time and try to rebuild my life..as it once was..( Chris Still got the ball rolling this morning..going off topic..on air..I might add)..I do hope he got scolded too..smile

As for today’s topic..

Health risks and health coverage would be my concerns..

Especially when workers started complaining about back problems or twisted ankles..

Are companies out there set up to handle such complaints and will their insurance companies cover this type of injury..

As a general rule..people in the work force are clumsy..the less you give them to play with..the less injuries occur..and fewer complaints make a happier work environment..( I heard this on Dr. Phil..so we know it’s true..)

Someone will find a way to screw it up by getting hurt. (see frivolous lawsuits)

It’s a waste. If you’re concerned about your health then you’ll take the time to eat healthy and exercise. Another gimmick that will not work.

I would rather have a job that required some walking. Like, maybe the new Hard Rock.

I hear the new Hard Rock Park has a couple of openings Mookster..

Maybe one of the jobs is running the treadmill in the arcade..where employees cant walk out if they win a prize..

I dont know for sure tho..I’m waiting for Job Service to email me back…

If this post gets erased..that means throwing the treadmill in...didnt work..wink

***Do Not attempt to post like this at home..I am a professional poster and trained to suffer the aftermath..***

I wish they would hire me at the station.
