Morning Buzz: Virtual Friday

Today’s Friday edition of the morning buzz comes to us from KGTV in San Diego. Employees at one California business are working from home today in what’s being called "Virtual Friday." Public relations agency JHG Townsend is now shutting down its office on Fridays to help its employees save on gas.

The employees use webcams, emails and cell phones to communicate on “Virtual Friday.” Employees are expected to save around $35 a month by eliminating four commute days. The company plans to keep this going through September, and may decide to keep it year round.

Has your company made any changes because of gas prices?

There’s something about a Public Relations Agency staying at home that doesnt sound too “public” to me..

Rumor has it that Media General is considering something along those same lines..

Twice a week WBTW reporters will walk to locations to do their reporting..it is believed that this will save a small fortune in fuel bills..and build the strongest news team in the nation..

It has been predicted that Cecil’s World episodes will be coming in at a rate of 1 every 2 or 3 months..wink
