Morning Buzz: Smart Clothing
Scientists are hard at work developing clothing that not only keeps you covered... the outfits may help improve your health. A report on CNN.com from London reveals that in the past ten years, more and more technology is making its way into what we can wear. The report says clothes that can repel insects and mask smells like cigarette smoke are already on the market, and now clothes that can help prevent colds and the flu, as well as a sports bra that monitors heart rate and a bra that can help check for breast cancer are just some of items in the works.I'm not sure how these clothes can do all this, but it'll be interesting to see if we'll find them on store shelves soon.

I know this..only because I was sober throughout most of the 6th grade and chemistry was like the sexiest class you could take back then..
When you electrostatically charge nanoparticles…it creates a protective shield around the cotton fibers..
The dress also contains cotton coated with silver nanoparticles..
So basically what you have is..positively charged cotton fibers..you can create this using ammonium and epoxy-based reactions…which induces positive ionization..
If the silver particles were then synthesized in citric acid..it would prevent nanoparticle agglomeration..
Mixing the positively charged cotton into the negatively charged silver nanoparticle solution..results in the particles clinging to the cotton fibers..
We already know from our early school days that Silver possesses natural antibacterial qualities which possess the ability to deactivate many harmful bacteria and viruses..
..silver infusion would also reduce the need to wash the garment..
So now that you know how it all works..
..whatdaya think?..pretty cool huh?:)
