Morning Buzz: Running on empty
In Los Angeles, the Freeway Service Patrol offers a service to help drivers who run out of gas. But, CBS News reports high gas prices have prompted some drivers to fake an empty tank. Patrol employees say with gas costing more than $4 a gallon, they’re seeing this way more than they used to. They say they find people saying they’re out of gas, but when they ask them to start the car… it starts… and it’s obvious their tank is not on E.CBS News reports this isn’t just happening in California. Across the country there are similar services that some drivers are trying to take advantage of. But, courtesy officers say they also see more people who continually run out of gas, because they can’t afford to fill up their tanks.
How have gas prices impacted the way you fill up? I know I used to fill up my tank, now I just put in $15 or $20 worth and hope the price goes down!

“courtesy officers say they also see more people who continually run out of gas, because they can’t afford to fill up their tanks.“ How dumb is that? If you can’t put gas in the tank it ain’t gonna run, walk, take a bus, ride a bicycle.
If you don’t think California is the land of fruits and nuts, (both kinds) go see for yourself. Then again South Carolina had more than its share of the same as all state do.
The gasoline situation is only going to get worse, unless the oil producers wake up and understand they are killing the goose that laid the golden egg. You know what they say about paybacks.
