Morning Buzz: Race for the green

The latest “green” car event is a race! This story comes to us from KELO in Souix Falls, SD. All of the solar-powered cars were made by college students. There were 26 teams who entered their cars in The North American Solar Challenge, a 24-hundred mile race that starts in Texas and ends in Alberta, Canada. The teams have 3-4 drivers who take turns driving.

I’ll show you this morning. If you’re in the market for a solar car to combat high gas prices, these autos could also hurt your wallet at around $250,000 each.
