Morning Buzz: Gold party

Many of us are looking for ways to make extra money. Well, here’s an idea that was spotlighted by CBS affiliate KHOU in Houston, TX… “Gold Parties.” The report shows a Gold Party is like many other parties where people host friends at their homes. There’s wine, snacks, and a chance to mingle. But, at a gold party there is also a jeweler on hand weighing the gold and cutting you a check on the spot.

At the party that was profiled in Houston, people said they made hundreds of dollars by cashing in on rings, necklaces and bracelets that they haven’t worn in years. Do you think we’ll see more of these types of parties, or just more people selling their old jewelry in general? The price of gold is near $900 an ounce these days.
