Morning Buzz for Tuesday 2/5/08 - There’s My Pizza!

Most of us have called to have a pizza delivered. Some of us may have even placed our order online. Once that’s done you’re given an estimated wait time for your pizza to show up at your door. Well, to my surprise, my friend ordered a pizza the other day and then sat down at the computer to see when it would arrive. That’s when I learned about the “Pizza Tracker.” It’s something new Domino’s is offering. And, it’s something a lot of people are buzzing about. The company’s website allows you to log on and track your pizza from the moment you place your call – to when the pizza goes in the oven – to when the delivery driver is on the way to your house!

What do you think about this new pizza-tracking technology? Do you think other restaurant chains may try something like this?

I'll see you at 5!

Talk about a waste of technology for people who have nothing better to do but track a pizza.

Lyra should re-evaluate her relationship with this person..

“Friends dont let friends track pizzas”

Due to being the infamous person that I am…my mind quickly became attached to the fact that you have to agree to use Domino’s Pizza tracker to only track your own pizza…

It’s embarrassing enough tracking your own pizza..but when you get caught tracking someone else’s pizza you cant live stuff like that down..

Headlines across the globe will be referring to you as the “Pizza Pervert”..

Even tho this amount of fame does appeal to me somewhat..I think I’m just gonna settle for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich….

.....and another beer!

I think it would be tough to track someone else’s pizza.  You track it by entering the phone number used to place the order.

I’ve used the pizza tracker before.  It ended up being pretty useful.  I was in somewhat of a hurry to get to my friend Tino’s party and I knew exactly and it was. Seemed to be surprisingly accurate in telling where my cheese pizza was.

Sorry Lady..I dont make the rules..I just enforce them..

It must not be impossible if you have to accept that as one of the terms on their website..

Course I wouldnt know..they wouldnt deliver this far out anyway..

But you looked like you could use the extra comments..so stop picking on me..Ted was the one who said your friend was wasting their time..not me..wink

I think what you should be doing is finding out the level of difficulty involved in tracking different pizzas with entirely different toppings..

Now Jordan up there has already established that tracking a cheese pizza is relatively easy..if we can locate someone who has tracked a pizza with “everything” and had a helluva time getting it..then we will be able to measure off each end and see where we are now..

This will give us a general idea of what level we will encounter tracking the cheese pizza with 2 extra toppings that you are gonna order us for discussing this with you..The News Dept. has a budget for this..See Mr. Hart..

..but dont mention my name or the chances will decrease rapidily..wink

Sounds like a good idea.  Anytime there is a pizza delivered to the newsroom it is a good day.  Whether you can track it or not smile

I think the tracking idea is nothing more than a gimmick..much like a snow-globe..after you shake it up and watch it snow on the lil scene inside..you have pretty much pushed it to it’s max..

It then sits there on a shelf collecting dust for the remainder of it’s life..

I tell you all this because if any of you decide to get me something for Christmas this year..I really want you to avoid the snow-globes..at all costs..
