Morning Buzz for Thursday 3/20/08 - $100 for a corn flake?
Today's buzz comes to us from CBS affiliate WTKR in Virginia. Two sisters from Virginia are auctioning off a corn flake they say is shaped like Illinois. 15 year old Emily McIntire and her 23-year old sister, Melissa, are selling "The Great Illinois Corn Flake" on the online auction site eBay.
Emily says she was enjoying her usual snack of Frosted Flakes when this particular one caught her attention.
The first listing on the site was cancelled after being in violation of the site’s food policy. But, now it’s back on listed as a coupon to redeem the flake.
Bidding for the corn flake has exceeded $100.
Copycat items have popped up on eBay, including corn flakes shaped like Hawaii and Virginia. There's also a potato chip shaped like Florida, and Illinois corn flake paraphernalia, including T-shirts and buttons.
I have seen the corn flake… to me… it just looks like a corn flake. I’ll show you video of this in the morning. Tell me what you think!

That auction is currently at $1,025.00..with 61 bids..
..before Ebay pulled it the last time..it exceeded $200,000.00…
I was the high bidder there for awhile..
I cant prove it..but I think Bob Juback keeps out-bidding me..
Personally I think it favors one of Chris’ weather maps..that’s why I keep bidding on it..
