Morning Buzz for Thursday 3/13/08 - New Computers can bring new issues
Many people who have computer problems may be referring to hand-held devices like BlackBerrys of other PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants). The Associated Press reports the Computing and Technology Industry Association found information technology departments are spending more time and money fixing PDA problems. The report says IT professionals say they actually spend 30 times more energy and money to support the BlackBerry smart phone than laptop computers. Experts say the devices are more likely to pose higher security risks – because they’re more likely to be misplaced or not connected securely. They’re also difficult to connect to printers… and sometimes IT departments will have to update or buy compatible devices.I don’t have one of the devices… but I am in the process of getting one. As many of you know, I’m not the most technologically savvy person. So, even when I get one, I’ll probably only use it to make calls and send text messages… so I won’t have a lot of these problems.
What about you? Have you encountered any problems with these new computer/phones?

I’m sticking to my trusty Motorola flip phone for now. It does more than I need it too. Friend of mine, who has more money that sense, has to have all the latest and greatest. He has a Blackberry. The Blackberry is a whole lot smarter than he’ll ever be. He’s lost with it….....but he has one.
