Morning Buzz for Thursday 2/7/08 - Did you enjoy the warm weather outside?
A new study says more and more of us are spending less time outside and more time in front of our TVs and computers. A story posted by Miranda Hitti on WebMD.com sites a report from researchers at the University of Chicago. It says, basically, the typical American spends 25% less time in nature than 20 years ago. The researchers came up with the data by tracking visits to national parks, hiking, camping… as well as getting a license to hunt or fish. The study does not count spending time in your backyard.I like to enjoy the nice weather. But, I have to admit I’m not usually outside exercising or camping. I really enjoy going out to lunch or dinner with friends and enjoying the fresh air. And, even though that probably doesn’t count in this survey… that’s how I like to spend my time outside. What about you?

An even newer study would probably show that in 1988..gas was more affordable..the economy wasnt as shaky..and life moved a bit slower than it does now..
It only makes logical sense that a typical person..spends less time outside after they have aged 20 years..
I also think the study should have included your backyard..outside is outside regardless how far off from your home you get..
I like spending my time outside doing what I like..and exercise is somewhere close to the bottom of that list..along with camping..and hiking..I dont hunt..I rarely fish ..
I have a complex now..after reading Lyra’s blog..I see that I aint a typical American..
Some days it just dont pay to get out of bed..
