Morning Buzz for Thursday 2/28/08 - Pack Light
If you don’t pack light on your next trip, your wallet may feel a little lighter. U.S. Airways says it’s going to start charging passengers $25 to check a 2nd bag. The Associated Press reports it’s in an effort to raise revenue and deal with rising costs (particularly fuel costs). However, this doesn’t apply to preferred-status members in the company’s frequent flier programs – or passengers in first class. A spokesperson for the company says they will also waive the fee for military personnel, unaccompanied minors, and customers checking assistive devices.
Will this make you be more selective about what you pack? Let’s discuss. Maybe I’ll read your comment on the air tomorrow!

It will make me more selective on who I fly with. The $25 charge will have to be factored in when comparing prices.
