Morning Buzz for Thursday 2/21/08 - Trash Talk

Many of us have heard of… or participated in trash-talking on the basketball court. But, this trash talk is a lot different. Nike has introduced a sneaker made from 100% trash (the trash is from manufacturing waste from the sneaker factory’s floor). Nike is releasing a limited number of the “Nike Trash Talk” in 3 different colors. The cost: $100.
The new shoe made its debut last week on the feet of Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash.
I’ll show you the sneaker this morning. See you between 5 and 7!
Let me know what you think about the "green" footwear?

Well. I just took about $2000.00 worth of material out to the end of the driveway.
I wouldn’t pay $100.00 for a pair of sneakers even if they were made from the hide of a duck billed platypus.

Who other than a drug dealer would pay 100 bucks for a pair of sneekers? You know NBA player Steve Nash didn’t pay for his.

It’s great to see that Corporate America is trying to be a little more environmentally conscious.  Nike is based out of Oregon which is probably the “greenest” state, so these actions aren’t totally surprising.  They also owns Converse, Cole Haan, Hurley and several other companies so hopefully we’ll see a trickle down effect across the board!

when you said that the shoes were made from scraps off the floor i thought they would have been alot cheaper .dont get me wrong we need to be more environmrntally conscious but the price is a little steep i will stick with my $20 shoes from wal mart
