Morning Buzz for Monday 3/3/08 - Sleep much?
Hey there sleepy head! Today’s buzz comes to us from WebMD.com. It's the results of a new sleep survey.The results of a new CDC study shows that adults are sleeping less than we did two decades ago. The survey of close to 20,000 people revealed only 30% of people said they got enough sleep or rest in the past month.
Another CDC study shows more people got 6 or more hours of sleep in 1985 than in 2006. However, the studies don’t say why people are sleeping less.
I think it’s because we try to do a lot more in a lot less time these days. More people have things like computers, cell phones, BlackBerrys… that keep us constantly connected. If someone sends me an email on certain accounts, my computer will beep… I’ll probably go over and check it… when in the past my relaxation would have been uninterrupted.
How much sleep or rest do you get? Is it enough?
