Morning Buzz for Monday 3/31/08 - Ringtone sales falling?
It’s one of the ways the struggling music industry is staying afloat – ringtones. But, The Associated Press reports BMI is projecting US sales of mobile ringtones will fall in 2008 cpmpared to last year. The company expects sales to fall 7% to $510 million. It says demand has decreased due to new phones that let you pick from their audio collections instead. However, the company does expect growth in another area “ringback tones” – that’s what you hear when you’re calling someone instead of hearing the standard “ring ring ring.”Have you switched from a ringtone to one of the tones provided on your phone? I just got a new phone and actually switched the ringer to one that sounds like an old school landline ring. I guess, what’s old is new again!

I assign different ringtones to different people..
When Cecil calls ..“ Cheeseburger in Paradise” plays..
When Bob calls..some country tune plays..
When Martha calls..Billy Joel breaks off with She’s always a Woman..
When Nickie calls….never mind..I cant say..or my wife will know I have this school-boy crush thing going on for her..
You’ll have to take my word for all of this..none of these people have ever called me..so I can only hope I have them set up right..
