Morning Buzz for Friday 3//7/08

This Sunday at 2am, set your clock forward one hour. We will begin daylight saving time and enjoy an extra hour of sunlight. I have always enjoyed seeing the sun set later in the summer… although, I must admit, the later sunsets mean it will be harder for me to fall asleep during the week. I go to bed early, so I think I’ll need to invest in some dark curtains soon.

What about you? What are your feelings on daylight saving time? If you also work odd hours, how do you fall asleep when it’s bright outside?

I enjoy the longer days..and the later sunsets dont bother us at all..

On the west side of our place the trees are 80 feet tall..and run the entire length of the property..so by 3:00 PM the entire yard is in the shade..

As crazy as this is going to sound..it really isnt..and it has so many advantages..

Every window in our house is “limo tinted”..you however have a choice of how dark you want to go..We decided on the 2% window tint..

It isnt as dark as it sounds..but it keeps the bright sunlight out..plus it helps save on the electric bill..the A/C rarely comes on and when it does..it doesnt stay on for long..

Also it doesnt allow the sun to fade your curtains or floors..not to mention..that nobody can just see into your house..which is an added security bonus..

If you went with the 20% window tint..it would be like looking through a pair of sunglasses..and we all know how nice they are in bright sunlight..

The tint comes in either permanent or electro-static..which just peels off when you want the full sunlight again..Being that it holds the cool and warmth in..we went with the permanent tint..

I got the idea from watching late night vampire movies..wink

Normally I do not comment on issues but I was pleasantly suprised by Lyra’s kindness to a stranger. I was in TJMaxx the other day shopping, and I overheard a lady approach Lyra ( she told Lyra that she watches her on TV) and tell her that it was nice to meet her. Lyra took her time to greet the lady and to extend a smile to her. It was nice to see that she took the time to make this lady feel that she was important to her. I think that if we all take more time and let the elderly population know that they are appreciated and are still important that we the younger generation will be the ones who benefit from taking the time and learning from them. I know this has gotten a little wordy but it was nice to see that Lyra was sincere and took the time. I am 36 and I can honestly say sometimes I am in too big of a hurry to do the same.

2 maybe 3 glasses of Merlot
1 Darvocet
Sleep like baby.

I have a question for you Lyra. What is your typical daily schedule? What about for the 6 o’clock crew? I’m sure it’s more than just showing up an hour before showtime. Just curious.
