Morning Buzz for Friday 3/28/08 - Study shows eating habits differ by gender

Happy Friday! I'll see you this morning between 5 and 7!

A telephone study of 14,000 people in the U.S. gathered some interesting results about the eating habits of adults. The Associated Press reports it confirmed conventional wisdom that most men eat more than women, and women eat more fruits and vegetables. But, there were a few exceptions… the survey shoed men were more likely to eat asparagus, brussel sprouts, peas and peanuts. Men also ate more frozen pizza, frozen hamburgers and Mexican food. Women were found more likely to eat eggs, yogurt and fresh hamburgers.
The survey was done in ten states and was a collaboration between state and federal health officials. Health officials say they can’t explain some of the results, like why men eat more asparagus than women.

I wonder how many of our tax $$$ were spent to find out all of that perfectly useless information.  A study on the sex life of a ping-pong ball would be about as useful as this. $4 Trillion in the hole and money is wasted this way. Me complain? I just picked up my tax returns yesterday. Guess what. Uncle Sam didn’t already get enough of my blood.

This is based strictly on a telephone study…

It’s amazing the info they can collect by just ringing you up these days..

I am somewhat interested in the sex life of ping-pong balls..I heard that they breed like rabbits..that is why we have an over-population of them..I personally think some kind of control is in order…but that is just my opinion..

Wonder how they got 14000 people to answer the phone?

From what I’ve read, the hope is the study can be used for dietary heath education programs.

There are several good protections against temptations, but the surest is cowardice.

Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently—they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Never be a cynic, even a gentle one. Never help out a sneer, even at the devil.
