Morning Buzz for Friday 3/14/08 - Driving “Green” = Saving “Green?”
Today’s buzz comes to us from an article in The Denver Post. The Post reported on a pilot program in Denver aimed at helping drivers track their driving habits to learn how to use less gas. The idea is a change in driving habits can lead to reduced fuel consumption. This topic is of interest to me, and judging by the responses posted on the gas prices blog from a few days ago… it may be of interest to you, too.
The Denver Post article says the program involves an acceleration meter and wireless technology used to monitor how a driver starts and stops the car… and it measures idling time. 400 volunteer drivers will have access to personal websites to chart their ability to drive efficiently compared to others.

Post your thoughts!

Sounds like a waste of $400,000.00 to me.
How many people will actually change their driving habits as a result of this study? Not many would be my guess. I’d rather see the money spent on developing an alternate source of fuel.
They need to find a way to make fuel out of pine cones. I’d be one rich dude. Good topics this week, Lyra. I’ve enjoyed.
