Morning Buzz for 2/14/08 - Vanlentine’s Day chocolate

Buzz – Valentine’s Day Chocolate

Have you ever been to a wedding with a chocolate fountain? Well... chocolate company Godiva has taken that a step further in New York.
This report comes to us from WCBS. Godiva has created a chocolate room. Everything from the sofas and tables – to the fireplace -- are all made of chocolate. The room is part of Godiva's Valentine's Day promotion… the person who buys a winning box of Godiva chocolates wins the room.
It will be re-created in a suite at Manhattan's Bryant Park Hotel for a pampered weekend getaway for the winner. We’ll show you video of this in the morning.

Do you think this is a great Valentine’s Day present? Do you think this is too much candy? Let me know what you think! Maybe I’ll read your comment on the air tomorrow.

I think this experience would be awesome..

I love chocolate..but that would be the least of my reasons for thinking this would be a great gift..

If you looked at the “room” portion of the prize..as just a chance to experience some crazy Willy Wonka fantasy..and not a chance to develop bad eating habits...or get sick trying to eat everything in the room...then it doesnt look like a bad weekend..

To me..it would be..the weekend in Manhattan that would get me excited about this prize..

The prize isnt limited to the room..it also includes a private chocolate tasting..a chocolate spa experience...and a private gourmet meal and wine pairing created by one of New York’s finest chefs especially for the couple in the suite…

In addition...upon their return home...the winner will receive a year’s supply of Godiva chocolate…

Life is what you make it..this would probably be a once in a lifetime experience..and I think it could be turned into quite a weekend getaway..

A weekend in Manhattan is a great way to celebrate!  And, once the weekend is over… you have the memories… and chocolate for a year!

Does this mean if I win that you will be my Valentine?

Check Yes or No..wink

Just a little side note here..You and Chris have turned this Morning Show into a great way to start the day..the humor itself is priceless..

Great Job Guys!

For the people yes it would be grand.
But I do feel some sorrow for the Hotel Staff.
The Cleanup would be a nightmare.
Chocolate in the carpet is very difficult to remove.
Imagine though the mess if the people turned up the heat in the room to above 70.
Plus just think of the other guests. Not everyone likes the smell of chocolate.

Now that is “thinking out of the box” there James..

I hadnt even thought of that aspect of it..

You’d probably make alot of friends real fast with the other guests..except those who didnt like chocolate..

I believe Godiva would be responsible for re-creating the room and then returning it to it’s original state..

I think they are owned by Campbell Soup Company..Hmm Hmm Good! They’re kinda like NASA..they think of everything..so I doubt you’d get to wake up to chocolate puddles all over the suite..

They’d definitely have to do a full body search at the end of the weekend..I would leave their towels and bathrobe and fill my pockets and suitcases ram jam full prior to exiting the city..then come home and re-create as much as I could in our walk-in closet..

That way I’d know where to find my wife when I needed her..smile

The idea of a year of chocolate is certainly appealing - YUM!  But I have to admit, the whole “prize package” continues to play in my mind as the “business” of Valentines.  Motel Rooms, Roses, Candy, Red Colored Cell Phones, diamonds … even cars! Me personally, all I want is to hug my husband in the morning, tell him that I love him, and see in his eyes that he still - after all these years - feels the same.  It doesn’t take one day out of the year for this – it is ‘everyday’.

Is there a way that our kids all across the country can view their Dad singing this morning on Cecil’s Place with the Barbershop group you had on ????  Thanks! June

A chocolate bathroom would be more interesting.
I would shy away from eating the commode.
But count me in.  I’d fill the room full of marshmellows and graham crackers. A little heat courtesy of those hot TV-13 girls and Booyah..........s’mores running out the ying yang.

Sign me up, Lyra.
