Morning Buzz: Fast food tax?
An additional tax on fast food? That’s an idea some New Jersey lawmakers are considering. This story comes to us from WCBS in New York. The idea is being tossed around as a way to help the floundering economy – specifically helping to fund struggling hospitals. But, many NJ residents interviewed by the station are opposed to it.Tina Abrahamian told WCBS: "No one wants to be taxed. I mean, it's a necessity to eat and people need to eat and with everything skyrocketing, that's the last thing we want to tax."
The report says State Sen. Richard Codey has been quoted saying a tax like this "is a tax on the poor."
However, there are some New Jersey residents who think it’s a good idea – one to help people choose healthier options.
This is just an idea… but it has a lot of people in NJ talking.
What do you think?
