Morning Buzz: A roller coaster relationship

Vows on a roller coaster, an Elvis impersonator and Santa Claus… It all makes for an interesting wedding! Santa Claus is actually the location of the wedding, Santa Claus, Indiana. This story comes to us from WDRB-TV. The groom, Jerry Fleming of Ohio met his fiancé Leslie Baia of Kansas on the internet. The two share a love of roller coasters and decided to get married at the top of The Voyage, a wooden coaster at Holiday World in Indiana (16 stories above the ground).

Here’s where the Elvis impersonator comes in – Indiana State Legislator Bruce Borders is also an Elvis impersonator, and he performed the ceremony. He then sang the couple’s wedding song, “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Then all three of them went for a roller coaster ride.

Do you have an out-of-the-ordinary wedding story?

What a depressing subject to wake up to this morning…

Losing a wife can be hard…

In my case...it’s right next to impossible..wink

Nothing out-of-the-ordinary with our wedding tho..we were married on the exact spot where she proposed..I can still remember her words.."Marry Me....or else”! I’m still scared of her..and she couldnt be happier…

Next time I wont be married by a judge..I’m gonna ask for a jury..smile

After dating my husband for 8 years, he drove down to Sullivans Island, loaded up all my furniture, and moved me to Florence...talk about culture shock. LOL
That was right after school ended in 1983, we got married that Nov., and are still married. He’s scared of me too....ha, ha…
Did I miss something? The couple didn’t die on the roller coaster, did they?

Heavens No child...they didnt die on the roller coaster..that would have been an action packed story..it was worse..they got married..then had to sit and listen to an Elvis impersonator ..

A short time after this story came to light..the couple seperated..and are in the process of getting divorced..

The part of the story that gets me is that the “King”..waited until after he married them to sing a song that starts out with.."Wise men say that only fools rush in”..

That’s just down right cruel..

The groom would have stood a better chance of jumping from 16 stories above the ground without a parachute and surviving than he did of marrying this girl..

Leslie Baia of Kansas went on to become a Moodette..(how’s that for a happy ending?)
