Morning Buzz: A $100 bill is lost and found

This story comes to us from The New York Daily News. Last week, a woman lost a $100 dollar bill and assumed the worst… that someone stole it. 40 year old Rochelle Myers told the paper, “I was so upset.” She had planned to use that money to buy a new cell phone.

But, Rochelle was in for a surprise. When she stopped by the food cart she goes to every morning, the operator, Emad Youssef, returned the cash to her. It appears she lost it there and another customer turned it in to the operator. The next day, Rochelle showed her appreciation by giving him a bouquet of flowers and a hug. She told the paper, “he really restored my faith in human beings.” She hopes the man who originally found the money would come forward so she can thank him, too.

Don’t you just love to hear stories like that? I agree with you Chris. I also think the vast majority of people are still good, but the ones that are not get all the attention. I suggest to Bob a while back to dedicate the 5 PM news to only good news. It hasn’t happened. 99% of what is broadcast on the news is terrible stuff, but good things like this happen all the time. We just don’t hear about it.

Evidently good things happen every day because of the American and Allied troops in Iraq, but the news media for the most part chooses to ignore it.

A few years ago my wife found a signed payroll check laying on the floor at the Magnolia Mall.
Rather than turn it into the Mall Security she contacted the owner directly because it was as good as cash and we wanted to make sure nothing improper happened. It is a bad idea to sign a check until the right time comes unless for deposit only is placed right below the signature.
She was a luck person.
