Morning Buzz: $8 billion goes to the dogs
Late hotel queen, Leona Helmsley has left her fortune (estimated to be up to $8 billion) to dogs. More specifically, to the care and welfare of dogs. The New York Times reported that the directions on what to do with the money were included in a so-called mission statement for the estate. However, it’s not certain that all they money will go to the dogs. The mission statement was never formally incorporated into Helmsley’s actual will or any trust documents. But, The Times reports the law favors remaining faithful to the donor's intent. So, the trustees of the fortune may have difficulty ignoring her wishes.
You may remember, Helmsley left $12 million to her dog trouble, and a judge later reduced the dog’s allowance to $2 million… giving 6 million to Helmsley’s grandchildren who were not in her will.
What do you think of Helmsley’s wishes? Do you think they should be carried out as she wanted?

I think her wishes are way out there..like Pluto..
It’s obvious she didnt care much for her human family...but to leave 8 billion dollars to dogs is pushing the point on home..
I love my animals to death...and then some..but I seriously think our daughter would come into the will way on before the animals would..
