March madness has a way of reaching everyone
Now I'm not much of a college basketball fan. But even I was caught up in Syracuse's big win over UConn the other night. For those who might not have heard, Syracuse and UConn went to six overtimes (yes six) in order to determine who would get a chance to play Friday night. That many overtimes is the same as a game and a half.
Too many twists and turns to count. A last-second shot at the end of regulation almost ended the classic contest. Then, the Orange had to struggle to survive for five overtimes, never leading any of them. They finally pulled ahead in the final OT for the win.
And how did they follow that up? With another overtime game against West Virginia on Friday. Tomorrow, they'll play their fourth game in as many days plus seven overtimes.
Don't know if they can pull it off, but you can't say they haven't given it their all. It's always amazing to watch sports teams who should have nothing left and who shouldn't even be where they are find a way to win.
